Men and women with big, green backpacks are crisscrossing Europe today. Their mission is to encourage citizens to recycle empty cans of soft drinks and beer in order to keep public spaces clean.

A part of the initiative "Every Can Counts", the EU hopes to raise awareness of two issues: World Environment Day, but also the increase in pollution in public spaces, which was observed during the pandemic, where public spaces functioned as exclusive meeting places.

The campaign will take place simultaneously in 15 countries and 19 locations. More specifically, in the framework of the European Recycling Tour 2021, young people with backpacks will appear in Greece, England, Austria, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Montenegro, the Netherlands, France, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Spain.
