In this short review, I would like to introduce you the story of a podcast network startup called “Gimlet Media”, which was founded in 2014 by Alex Blumberg and Matthew Lieber. Alex, while parallelly launching Gimlet, made a podcast series called “StartUp Podcast by Gimlet” where he teaches listeners about how to build up a startup from the ground up.

Alex Blumberg is an American Producer and Radio-Journalist, who became famous for his work at the radio program called “This American Life”. After leaving the show, he decided to start his own company and document it in a podcast series, as mentioned earlier.
The Podcast teaches, among other things, how to pitch your idea to investors; how to reach an agreement with your business partner over shareholder questions; how to give a name for your startup, and what are the risks and difficulties of a newly founded business.
After four years of existence, Gimlet media was acquired by Spotify in 2019 for $230 million. The company is still producing podcast shows to this day.
